"Bigger Isn't Always Better", Presidential
Bank was rated as having the best checking account in the US In the
combined list of the best online and offline accounts, conducted by Bankrate.com,
Presidential 6% Internet Checking Plus account nabbed the top spot. Bankrate.com
surveyed the largest banks and thrifts in the top 35 US markets, as well
as Internet institutions, to gather data on more than 1,200 accounts. The
rankings are based on how much money consumers would earn or have to pay
out over the course of a year.

Presidential® Unveils A New Check Imaging Technology
September 7, 2000 - Presidential Bank's innovative IT Department, led by Chief Information Officer Curt Johnson, has developed a new check imaging technology for the Presidential Bank Website. This program allows customers to view their canceled checks online as soon as they are processed through the banking system. This database stores the front and the back images of the checks, dating back to January 2000. Both consumers and business checking customers will be able to search for checks by using a date range, dollar range, or check number range. This tool allows customers to keep more accurate records of their banking transactions. "We advocate using our online billpayer system, but we appreciate the need to provide complete service to our customers with regular branch-based accounts as well as those with an Internet account." Said Johnson, who developed the system completely in-house using proprietary software capabilities.
